Description

The ultimate "sleeper". It is a 300 Deluxe Chevelle meaning that it is low optioned and light weight. No power steering, no A/C, no radio. Drag racers lusted over this car because of the center door post. Commonly refereed to as a "post car". The car was completely rebuilt approximately 3500 miles ago. Stunning, Sikkens water borne base coat, Cortez silver paint, finished in a clear coat that was completed three years ago. I have to stress how incredible the paint looks. The body has been completely gone through. Trim pieces, bumpers, and lights look fresh off the factory assembly line. Chrome dog dish hub caps on paint matched Kelsey Hayes rims. Body mounts, front and rear sway bars, rear shocks, bushings were replaced, and new boxed lower control arms. At the same time the car was fitted with a completely new interior and carpet; Rubber floor mats, dash pad, gauges, and a factory blinker tachometer. Factory green tint glass purchased at auto metal direct was installed at the same time. Did I mention this Chevelle is perfect? Just wait, it gets better. New crate 454 from ATK Industries, just broken in with roughly 680 miles on it. The previous owner took the correct steps to break in the engine and changed the oil three times. Now it is ready to drive. This engine has been dynoed at 415 horsepower with 505 ft. lb. of torque. Heads, intake manifold and aluminum water pump are by Edlebrock fed by a Holley Street Avenger 670 cfm carburetor. That power is transferred in to a Muncie 20 wide ratio four speed with HURST linkage that was rebuilt at the time of the engine. In addition a G-Force aluminum flywheel was slid in and backed by a balanced drive shaft and new yoke. The rear end is a recently installed 3.73 Richmond gear and Eaton Posi inside of a 10 bold rear end. New true dual MagnaFlow exhaust system with a balance pipe. Front disc brake conversion up front. We have experienced our fair share of 454 engines and this one is by far the smoothest idling, quietest, and most forgiving. Engine starts up and idles with absolutely no drama. This Chevelle may sound intimidating to drive but it quite forgiving, until you step on it! Come on over to the Sun Valley Auto Club to view it with your own eyes.
